Whether it's natural skincare, clean products, or your everyday skincare product from the shelf, everyone has a duty of care towards the ingredients they use in the formulation and manufacture of skin care products.
There is a lot of concern about some ingredients that are housed in cosmetics, food and skincare.
It is always good to look at your product label and to find out what each ingredient does and how it can affect you.

Here's a general list of what you wouldn't find in our skincare products.
Benzalkonium Chloride - found in deodorant, sunscreens, moisturisers
BHA & BHT (butylated hydroxyanisole and butylated hydroxytoluene)
Carbon black
Coal Tar - found in hair dyes, anti-dandruff shampoos
Diazolidinyl Urea
Imidazolidinyl Urea (German)
Quaternium-15
Bronopol
DMDM Hydantoin — releases formaldehyde
Diethanolamine (DEA)
EDTA (also known as Ethylenediaminetetraacetic Acid) - found in hair colour, moisturisers.
Glitter - microplastic
Homosalate - found in sunscreens
Hydroquinone - found in fragrances and skin lightening creams
Lead - found in lipstick, eye shadows, blushes, compact powders, shampoos and even body lotions.
MEA/DEA/TEA (known as Ethanolamines) - found in foundation, fragrances, sunscreens, mascara, hair dyes, facial cleansers, soaps, bubble baths, shampoos.
Methylisothiazolinone and Methylchloroisothiazonlinone - found in shampoo, conditioner, body wash.
Octinoxate - found in sunscreens
Oxybenzone and Avobenzone - found in sunscreens, lotions, lip balms, cleansers, fragrance, baby products and moisturiser
Parabens - Methyl, Propyl, Isobtyl Butyl, Proply and Ethyl Paraben
Petrolatum/Mineral Oil
PFAS and PFCS - found in Sunscreen, hair products, shaving creams
Phenoxyethanol
Phthalates
Propylene Glycol
Resorcinol - found in hair colour, bleaching product
Siloxanes or Cyclical Silicones
SLES
SLS (Sodium Lauryl Sulfate)
Sodium Lauryl/Laureth Sulfate
Synthetic Colours
Talc
Teflon - found added in cosmetics to improve the texture of some products
Toluene - nail polish
Triclosan - found in mouthwash, shaving cream, toothpaste
